What is Digital Printing?

With digital printing, digitized graphic information contained within an electronic art file goes directly to a wide format digital printer that has anywhere from four to eighteen print heads. The quality of digital printing output is measured in terms of dots per inch (dpi) that can vary from less than 100 dpi up to 1,440 dpi. The higher the dpi the better print quality or resolution. Most of our projects are outputted at 720 dpi.

How much does a vehicle wrap cost?

Most vehicles and boats are digitally wrapped for between $1500 to $3500. Final pricing is determined by the square footage of digital materials needed to cover the vehicle and the amount of time the project requires for designing.

How can CSI give me the best resolution on my digital print?

The single most important factor affecting the quality of the print we produce for you is the quality of the artwork / electronic files you provide to us. The higher / better the resolution going in, the better looking the finished print. Any project that CSI designs will have the optimum resolution planned into the construction of the design file. If we know that images you are providing to us will not output at a level of quality that we feel suits your projects application, we will address it before manufacturing your project.

What is the turn around time for my sign project?

Most of our projects are produced within a week from the date of the customer's approval of the artwork. Some projects that require a more complex manufacturing will require more time to produce, but will be completed as quickly as our quality control protocol will allow.

Digital wraps are usually installed over a matter of a day and a half. We will not force a wrap install. Rushing through a wrap install can lead to problems down the road.

Will a digital vehicle wrap damage my paint?

No. The 3M materials that we use are designed to stay applied for up to 5 years, and remain easily removeable for up to 3 years. The adhesive used is a non permanent adhesive that will release from the painted finish without pulling paint up or leaving adhesive residue behind to be cleaned off. For this reason digital wraps have become more and more popular, allowing a business owner to get the maximum amount of impressions from his advertising while not hindering their company's ability to easily renew vehicles in their fleet.

Will a small image lose print quality when printed as a large format image?

Yes, because as image size increases, the resolution goes down. For example, if you provide us with a 300 dpi image (at original size) and ask us to print it five times larger, then the finished print will have a resolution of 60 dpi.

In the preceding example, is 60 dpi on the finished print a good enough resolution?

Well, it depends on the application viewing distance.

What is “application viewing distance”?

The application viewing distance is the distance that the viewer typically views the image from. A billboard, for example, is typically viewed from hundred of yards away. As such, a billboard does not require a high resolution; 30 dpi is more than sufficient. Truck graphics and banners are usually viewed from 10, 25 or 50 feet away so the resolution needs to be higher. Wall murals are at times viewed from very close-up. As such they should be printed at a high dpi (300 dpi minimum) so that the print looks good at a viewing distance of 2-to-3 feet. Things like posters, labels and sticker that are all viewed close-up should be printed at as high a resolution as permitted by the supplied artwork.

Is there any size limitation to what you print?

We can digitally print images up to 58 inches wide by any length. Images wider than 58 inches are typically "tiled" or printed out like wallpaper, with each successive panel overlapping the preceding panel by .5 inches to 2 inches.

What materials can you print on?

We print on pressure-sensitive, self-adhesive vinyl of all types including opaque, translucent, clear, reflective, removable, conformable, permanent and static cling vinyl; banner materials, soft fabrics, backlit film, canvas, weather weave, wet-strength paper, and more.

When should I use digital printing?

Digital printing is ideal for full-color, detailed, high-impact, one-of-a-kind and short run vehicle graphics, vehicle wraps, banners, posters, decals, signs, trade show displays, POP and more. Digital printing is also perfect when you need multiples of a graphic where each one is similar yet each slight different. So long as you provide us with prepared files, it makes no difference to us if each print is identical or completely different. You have unlimited flexibility, you pay only for what you need, and you do not have to order more than you really need in order to obtain low pricing.

Can you print on a rigid substrate?

Anything we print can be mounted (laminated) onto just about any rigid substrate including Sintra, foam core board, Gatorfoam, Lexan, acrylic, styrene, Celuka PVC and more.

How should I send a file to you?

We accept files on CD-R or DVD-R. You can email us smaller files; larger files must be burnt to CD or DVD and delivered to our location.
